Manufacturing Engineer I
Summary:
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor, the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for a variety of projects aimed at improving efficiency, productivity, and product quality. This role includes defining production standards, developing new product lines, resolving production issues, ensuring process consistency, developing and implementing automation solutions, and maintaining product specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop production standards.
- Utilize lean manufacturing methods.
- Plan facility layouts to optimize workflow and develop proper set-up techniques.
- Develop, justify, procure, implement, and validate tooling, fixtures, capital equipment, and automation.
- Collaborate with Design Engineering to increase the manufacturability of our products.
- Recommend methods for improving efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
- Assist in programming and verifying manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- As part of the AROW Global team you will need to understand the AROW Business System policy and objectives and how you affect conformance to them.
Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Five or more years of experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs with an emphasis on Excel.
- Experience with Solidworks 3D CAD modeling is a necessity.
- Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
- Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills along with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal communication skills required to communicate with manufacturing personnel, customers’, and suppliers.
- Excellent writing skills to publish reports, work instructions, and company procedures.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed (<10%).
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to implement change.
