As a Manufacturing Engineer III based in Memphis, Tennessee, you will play a key role in advancing manufacturing excellence for innovative medical device products. This is an opportunity to lead impactful projects, introduce new technologies, optimize production processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that directly support product quality, operational performance, and patient outcomes.
What will you be doing?
Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing methods, processes, and operational sequences for medical device production.
Drive equipment installation and validation activities, including URS, FAT, IQ, OQ, PQ, and Validation Report Approval.
Manage capital projects from business case development and financial justification through execution and implementation.
Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot manufacturing issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Partner with cross functional teams to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, scalability, and product reliability.
Support new product introduction activities and design transfer deliverables to ensure successful product launches.
Collaborate with Design and Quality teams to support investigations, product releases, material disposition decisions, and compliance activities.
Lead manufacturing process transfers to internal and external sites, including process validation and documentation development.
Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, validation reports, process maps, pFMEAs, MSAs, and other risk management tools.
Participate in audits and inspections, supporting compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
Mentor and guide junior engineers and manufacturing personnel while promoting engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
What will you need to be successful?
Minimum 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or 4 years of experience with a Master's degree
Working knowledge in CNC machining, metal finishing processes, additive manufacturing, and/or passivation systems is desired.
Material experience/knowledge with manufacturing using various materials including Titanium, Cobalt Chrome, Stainless Steels, and medical-grade plastics is desired.
Experience in project management and success in implementing projects required.
Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience with process characterization, analysis, control, and validation using statistical tools and Six Sigma methodologies.
Physical Demands:
Standing or walking for extended periods, especially when conducting floor inspections, overseeing production processes, or collaborating with manufacturing personnel.
Lifting and carrying objects, such as equipment, tools, or materials, often weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
Bending, stooping, and reaching to access machinery, equipment, or workstations for inspection, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
Working in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and potential hazards, such as moving machinery, electrical equipment, or chemical substances.
Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection, as required by workplace safety regulations.
Travel:
Less than 10% travel within the US and/or internationally
