Position Description:


The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for driving operational excellence across film, plate, and extrusion manufacturing processes. This role focuses on identifying, developing, and implementing data-driven process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, improve product quality, and optimize overall performance.

The role also supports cost reduction initiatives through the development and optimization of coating processes, including solution delivery, precision coating, oven drying, web handling, and product management. The Manufacturing Process Engineer provides engineering support for both existing operations and new process development, ensuring consistent performance and continuous improvement across all assigned areas.

 Job Responsibilities:

 Develop and document process operating standards, including the identification and implementation of SPC opportunities.

 Improve product quality by reducing process variability and supporting the quality team.

 Drive cost reduction by minimizing waste, improving equipment utilization, and optimizing productivity.

 Collaborate with Product Engineering, Lab, and Technical Service teams to anticipate evolving customer requirements and align process capabilities accordingly.

 Provide equipment design input and specifications, including project justifications with clearly defined cost and quality impacts.

 Education, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Material Science (Recent B.S. graduates will be considered). 
  • 1-5 years Manufacturing, Process, or Supplier Quality experience preferred. 
  • Strong technical skills in engineering principles including process control, material science, and statistical process control (SPC). 
  • Recent coating experience preferred. 
  • Must be willing to live within 30 miles from the Weatherford facility. 
  • Must be willing to support the line and operation as needed basis outside the normal working hours.
