Job Overview:

Direct Hire position with a growing Building Products company located in West Milwaukee.

If you are a Manufacturing Engineer who wants to see your work make a real impact, this role delivers. Engineering is not removed from production here—it is embedded in it. You will spend time on the shop floor, solving real problems, improving processes, and helping shape how the business operates.

This is an employee‑owned (ESOP) organization that is financially healthy and on a multi‑year growth trajectory. The company is investing in people, equipment, and processes while maintaining long‑term stability. Employees share directly in the success they help create.

The role

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will provide hands‑on engineering support to daily operations, driving improvements across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). You will identify constraints, eliminate waste, and implement sustainable solutions that improve throughput and process stability.

You will collaborate closely with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, IT, and equipment vendors to ensure manufacturing processes are reliable, capable, and consistently meet performance and customer expectations. Your work will have a direct impact on safety, quality, delivery performance, and long‑term operational excellence.

What you will do

  • Support and optimize manufacturing processes on the shop floor
  • Identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and improve process flow and efficiency
  • Lead projects to design, install, validate, and optimize manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Apply root cause analysis and data‑driven problem solving to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and support new production processes
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality requirements
  • Reinforce a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the work, partnering directly with production teams, and taking ownership of problems from start to finish.

What we are looking for

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and materials
  • Proven ability to manage projects and implement process improvements
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, automation, or capital projects is a plus
  • Experience in woodworking, millwork, or custom manufacturing environments is helpful

Work environment

This role operates primarily in a manufacturing environment and requires frequent collaboration with production teams, equipment vendors, and cross‑functional partners. Occasional extended hours or off‑shift support may be required during equipment installations or major process changes.
