POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. This role will also recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designs, develops, tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods
- Provides technical support, performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency
- Leads all aspects of assigned engineering projects
- Leads project budgets, including outside suppliers and contractors
- Leads new equipment purchase, installation/implementation and training team members
- Represents manufacturing on multi-functional teams
- Supports production, quality, safety and lean initiatives to improve OEE and overall facility performance
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering role
- Must have minimum 5 years’ troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with CAPEX submissions and management
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen events (Continuous Improvement)
- Experience in 3D design software such as AutoCAD or Solidworks with the ability to interpret, design and modify tooling and machine layout drawings
- Travel 10-15%
