What you’ll do at IP Corporation:
The manufacturing engineer is responsible for documenting and improving Molding Products’ manufacturing processes. Process documentation includes tracking yield, downtime, productivity, work instructions, best practices and corrective actions. They will also be tasked with proposing and implementing process improvements, including capital projects, to achieve manufacturing targets. Work closely with the Plant Engineering Manager, Operations Manager, Quality Manager & Maintenance Supervisor on assigned projects. Primary Objectives are (measurable process improvement in the areas of Critical To Quality (CtQ), Critical to Safety (CtS), Critical to Process (CTP), Equipment Utilization/Productivity, Product Consistency and Cycle time reduction through procedures and technology.
What you can expect to do in this role:
- Track key performance indicators are critical to manufacturing excellence including quality, process, and safety.
- Autonomously identify significant quality cost improvement opportunities, organize corresponding projects and teams, lead teams, and execute the solution based on a desire in the reduction of variability within the process.
- Sets strategic direction in coordination with the plant engineering manager.
- Evaluate processes for cost position, quality, and capability; implement process equipment standardization, sequence, and training improvements to ensure operational goals are met.
- Make procedural changes and equipment modifications while utilizing management of change in a process safety management environment.
- Strong data analysis and computer skills. Candidates should be familiar with industrial process control and be able to update and maintain AutoCAD electrical, process and plant drawings.
- Develop and complete Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P & ID's) as required.
- Initiates and implements changes in design and engineering that will enable the plant to operate with greater efficiency.
- Develop, document, and implement, training program/ materials, SOP’s, etc., to build the sufficient skill sets in manufacturing required to produce quality products at expected rates.
- Assist HSEQ Manager in developing and maintaining the plant safety, EPA, OSHA and ISO standard programs. Promptly resolve any issues related to safety/fire protection/housekeeping inspections and environmental/regulatory agency visits.
- Hands-on involvement of the corrective action including the developing of an engineering solution, procedural change (under our ISO) and follow-up to ensure the effectiveness of the change.
What we are looking for:
- Strong leadership skills.
- BS Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering.
- 5+ years’ work experience in a similar position.
- Experience with statistical process control and other quality improvement tools e.g. Lean Six Sigma, 6S, DMAIC, 8D problem solving.
- Strong problem-solving skills developed through thorough investigation of a problem or process to be investigated and the application of engineering or process knowledge that will allow the development of a process or product improvement.
- Strong understanding of batch chemical process equipment and technology.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word and Teams.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good analytical skills.
- Knowledge of mixing and materials handling equipment.
- Willing to "get hands dirty" when troubleshooting plant problems.

The annual salary below is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include but are not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
