Catalyst Technologies (CT) is a market leader in the syngas value chain. It develops and supplies high-value, specialty process technology and catalysts for chemicals and fuels processing to enable our customers to operate efficiently, profitably, and sustainably. This position is accountable for the effective transfer of product design from the CATACEL R&D Engineering Team to the CATACEL Operations team. This includes control of process preparation or management of change (MOC) needs and documentation routing. In addition the role provides operations support for new and existing equipment and processes.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Understands and owns CATACEL Technology’s process capabilities and identify risks for any new products.
  • Responsible for handover of R&D Engineering Team new or existing products to the Operations Team. This includes document creation (job packets/router), work cell layout changes, MOC process initiation and coordination, presentation and communication of information to team members and/or stakeholders.
  • Assists the delivery of production jobs by active participation and contribution to Tier Meetings.
  • Leads or supports the cross functional team in the introduction, scale up, validation and post validation optimization of new product/process/technologies.
    • Engages in the CAPEX process and works with the R&D and Engineering functions as well as Capital Projects team for procurement of new equipment or equipment upgrades.
    • Responsible for facilitating and takes an active part in safety risk assessments related to new product/process introduction
    • Responsible for delivery and/or co-ordination of training of Operations Team owners
  • Leads the coordination of trials and the related data collection/analysis for the introduction of new products/processes or equipment and/or changes or optimizations.
  • Supports development of new products via the NPI process
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve production efficiency, profitability, and quality
  • Supports the Quality Assurance function by:
    • Maintaining and updating PFMEA
    • Ensuring QA documentation is up to date and at the correct revision level at work cells
    • Supporting QA audits
  • Supports production system setup
  • Assists the Inventory and Materials Co-ordinator with effective inventory management.
  • Owns and upgrades the CATACEL Electronic Production Records System
  • Owns CATACEL Emissions calculations and updates the EHS team as required.
  • Leads or assists mechanical development and design of upgrades to manufacturing processes or equipment

Requirements for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, or Chemical engineering; or any equivalent relevant combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods for data analysis
  • Strong mechanical, analytical, and technical skills
  • Relevant experience in an engineering design or manufacturing environment
  • Use of Solidworks / AutoCAD to produce mechanical drawings / GD&T awareness
  • Familiarity with standard fabrication processes such as machining, stamping, welding, punching or mechanical process line operation
