We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Elemet Group. The manufacturing Engineer has a “process improvement and ownership attitude” to provide process leadership and support of overall plant objectives. The Manufacturing Engineer will have input in numerous areas of Operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Make ongoing recommendations, support, and implementation of plans for improved safety, quality, delivery, and cost
• Assist in improving manufacturing processes by utilizing continuous improvement tools and methodologies
• Develop best practices for cost and manufacturability and collaborate to ensure application during product design
• Facilitate seamless transition from design through pre-production to full implemented manufacturing.
• Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling/production equipment capabilities, and quality control standards
• Troubleshoot manufacturing problems and related tooling, equipment, or process issues
• Develop new processes, tooling, and gauging
• Change management/ECRs (internal requests)
• Identify, implement, and track cost savings ideas
• Recommend, support, and implement improvements, modifications, or additions to that will improve work processes
• Take the lead in analyzing the need for new process development and to meet company needs including specifying, ordering, installing, and validating new equipment or processes
• Prepare justification for capital expenditures
• Propose potential new manufacturing technologies, including automation and new equipment
• Contribute to the definition, development, and implementation of LEAN manufacturing initiatives
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering (equivalent work experience considered)
• 3-5 years manufacturing experience required
• Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software
Skills and Competencies
• Knowledge of automation, machining, welding, and assembly, and fixturing (metal preferred)
• Knowledge of Fanuc Robots preferred
• Demonstrated ability to implement change in a way that positively impacts overall department and company performance
• Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. occasionally
• Excellent hand/eye coordination
• Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
• Ability to consistently wear personal protective equipment
• Standing, walking, and bending consistently
• Periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
