Job Overview:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Optimize manufacturing processes and workflows in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Knowledgeable about high temperature equipment and can troubleshoot problems, coordinate with maintenance, and return equipment to service in a timely manner. Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods, and controls. Support manufacturing launch for new or revised products and/or processes. Establish standard operating procedures and work instructions for current or newly-improved processes. Aid in inventory reporting, disposition, and scrap. Point of contact for day-to-day production issues and troubleshooting. Supporting production supervisors and staff in day-to-day duties. Perform production audits and report findings to management team. Work with process engineers and R&D for new product launches and technical challenges.

Education & Experience

B.S. degree in Engineering.

Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience. Preference for experience in a Lean or Six Sigma facility, but willing to train as needed.

Skills

  • Knowledgeable in machining operations (CNC, cutting, grinding, lapping)
  • Knowledgeable in high temperature equipment (kilns, furnaces)
  • Experience with metal casting and/or ceramics a plus
  • Value-added and Additive Manufacturing processes
  • Experience working with maintenance department to effect repairs
  • Experience in Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs
  • Knowledgeable in tooling for molds and machining
  • Technical writing for standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience with problem analysis and resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results working with others
  • Ability to recommend and implement improvements
  • Experience with networked PC based computer system (MS Office suite, spreadsheets, MS Access or other database systems, graphics, email, MRP systems)
  • Project Management: ability to organize and manage multiple projects through manufacturing process.
  • Quality focused and high attention to detail.
  • Experience with ISO, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and other quality management systems, as appropriate
  • Keen interest in quickly learning and applying new skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and seek guidance on priorities when necessary
  • Ability to excel in a cross-organizational, cross cultural, global team environment
  • Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to occasionally lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs.
  • Able to sit, stand, bend, squat and walk about the facility. 
  • Walk of uneven and slippery surfaces

Safety Requirements

All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and II-VI Corporate EHS standards.
