Description
Tangent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for driving the cost-efficiency, quality, and scalability of our product lines. This role plays a key part in both new product launches and continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with New Product Development teams to transition approved designs into scalable manufacturing processes.
- Partner with extrusion, tooling, and maintenance teams to ensure efficient, high-quality production.
- Refine and scale manufacturing processes for both new and existing products.
- Design, test, and install automated and manual manufacturing systems.
- Analyze production requirements and optimize workflows, layouts, and equipment performance.
- Lead initiatives such as FMEA, APQP, and PPAP to support product development and launch.
- Drive cost and lead time reduction by identifying and eliminating waste in production processes.
- Plan and execute process improvement activities including Kaizen, A3, and Six Sigma projects.
- Research and implement automation solutions to enhance production efficiency.
- Develop and maintain quality assurance protocols and ensure alignment with quality system procedures.
- Coordinate with external extrusion partners to optimize material usage and reduce waste.
- Monitor and apply SPC (Statistical Process Control) to improve response times to defects and maintain high production quality.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to take initiative in fast-paced environments.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods working at a desk and computer.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
