Job Overview:

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The principal purpose of this job description is to outline the roles and responsibility of a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer. The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer is to act as the liaison between Engineering and Operations providing engineering support by troubleshooting manufacturing process in machining and Cold Heading then implement timely solutions in order to maintain the continuity of production flow, also to monitor current and debug new methods, equipment and develop procedures to ensure total system efficiencies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

  1. Provide constant communication between Engineering and Operations.
  2. Support Operations by providing technical support and engineering data.
  3. Lead and support dept by providing feedback, data and other information needed to process parts.
  4. Design and installs equipment.
  5. Lead in developing detailed layouts for equipment and processes.
  6. Utilize CAD Software, specifically AutoCAD, to design and modify blueprints and electrical schematics
  7. Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate production setups
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and improve manufacturing processes.
  9. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues during production runs
  10. Perform machine setups for production runs and ensure proper functionality
  11. Utilize GD&T principles to ensure product quality and compliance
  12. Conduct PLC troubleshooting to identify and resolve any issues
  13. Experience with PPAP process and ability to develop and implement new processes
  14. Experience with machining and/or cold heading processes a plus
  15. Contribute to product design and development, providing valuable insights and recommendations
  16. Provide constant communication between Engineering & Operations
  17. Support operations by providing technical support and engineering data
  18. Support engineering by providing feedback, data and other information needed to process parts
  19. Calculation production and material costs
  20. Review & recommend continuous improvements to manufacturing processes and efficiencies
  21. Identifies need for established work procedure and standardized method
  22. Document and communicate work procedure and standardized methods as needed
  23. Identifies need for training and communicates need to appropriate manager
  24. Perform all other duties as assigned, instructed, or directed
  25. Use, understanding, and execution of LEAP/5S, HSE standards

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Six (6) to ten (10) years of relevant work experience in CNC machining and/or coldheading/ manufacturing; eight (8) + if no degree in related field.

Experience setting up CNC equipment and writing programs.

Knowledge and understanding of quality instruments and how to use them.

Experience with business side of operation (quoting, customer relations, production planning, etc.)

Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills

Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment

Proven negotiation and contracting skills

Demonstrated effective organizational and analytical skills
