Position Summary:

 The Manufacturing Engineer is a quality- and performance-driven professional responsible for delivering successful customer outcomes through research, testing, and continuous improvement. Key performance drivers for this role include effective communication, timeliness, and cost-efficiency. Responsibilities include conducting onboarding testing and communicating results to the Bell International Laboratories leadership team, overseeing the timely and cost-effective execution of equipment upgrades and installations by managing contractors and vendors, and collaborating with Process Engineers and Operations leadership to optimize efficiencies for both new and existing customers and products. 


Responsibilities

  • Executes engineering responsibilities to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of capital projects, new customer launches, and other assigned initiatives, aligning with operational goals and project timelines.
  • Ensure on-time and on-budget customer launches by verifying that components and equipment function as intended through effective communication and cross-functional planning.
  • Communicate project milestones and updates to Bell International Labs leadership.
  • Collaborate with R&D Process Engineers to identify optimal applications and best practices for new product lines and projects, ensuring efficient scale-up and seamless integration into manufacturing.
  • Maintain and uphold the Quality System within assigned areas by ensuring compliance with procedures, accurate documentation, timely corrective actions, and thorough deviation reporting.
  • Collect and analyze production data to monitor performance trends, develop KPIs, and recommend continuous improvement strategies.
  • Write Standard Operating Procedures for new equipment and new equipment configurations.
  • Propose and support engineering initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing customer satisfaction.






Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient at reviewing and editing documentation.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage deadlines accordingly. 
  • Communicate effectively with all members of organization and all levels of management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy & organization.
  • Three years’ experience in managing capital projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Two years’ experience working with departmental budgets.
  • Exhibit a quality mindset and a willingness to develop yourself and others.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, industrial engineering, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role; experience in personal care, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing 
  • Low pressure boiler license
  • Five years’ experience in equipment validation, including IQ/OQ/PQ


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in cosmetic and/or OTC manufacturing environments.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing management or related leadership roles. 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in technical writing, including the development of SOPs, work instructions, and validation documentation.
  • Proven experience supporting audits in regulated environments (e.g., FDA, ISO, GMP).


Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb and bend about the facility.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment including a respirator, gloves, and eye and hearing protection.
  • This candidate will perform repetitive and non-repetitive work. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, this candidate will be required to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time, use hands and fingers, climb and balance, stoop, kneel, talk or hear.
  • Ability to perform work in a manufacturing environment where there is exposure to occupational hazards
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis
