Build What Matters. Be Part of Something That Lasts.

At American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO), we design, build, and service custom engineered lifting solutions used in critical industries where precision, safety, and reliability matter—and we invest in the people who make that possible.

We're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys improving how things are built.

This role bridges Engineering and Manufacturing by developing smarter processes, improving production flow, reducing waste, supporting continuous improvement, and helping our teams manufacture highly customized crane systems safely, efficiently, and with exceptional quality.

If you enjoy solving manufacturing challenges, collaborating directly with production teams, and seeing your ideas become reality on the shop floor, you'll feel right at home here.

What This Role Really Is

This is a highly collaborative manufacturing engineering role focused on improving how custom-engineered products move from design to production.

You'll spend time in both the office and on the manufacturing floor, partnering with Engineering, Fabrication, Welding, Machining, Assembly, Quality, Shipping, and Operations to improve manufacturing methods, optimize production processes, and solve complex manufacturing challenges.

This is not a repetitive production engineering role.

Every project presents unique engineering challenges requiring creativity, collaboration, and practical problem-solving.

Who Thrives Here (and Who Doesn't)

You'll do well here if you:

  • Enjoy solving manufacturing and process challenges
  • Like balancing engineering analysis with hands-on shop involvement
  • Think critically about efficiency, quality, and safety
  • Communicate well with both engineers and production employees
  • Take ownership of projects and process improvements
  • Continuously look for better ways of doing things

This role is likely not a fit if you:

  • Prefer working exclusively behind a computer
  • Dislike spending time on the manufacturing floor
  • Prefer repetitive engineering work with limited collaboration
  • Avoid making decisions or driving process improvements
  • Become frustrated by changing priorities in a custom manufacturing environment

What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)

First 30 Days

  • Learn ACECO manufacturing processes, products, and production workflow
  • Build relationships across Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Operations
  • Become familiar with manufacturing routings, ERP systems, and production standards
  • Observe manufacturing operations to identify opportunities for improvement

Days 31–60

  • Begin supporting manufacturing process improvements and production initiatives
  • Participate in engineering design reviews for manufacturability
  • Develop manufacturing documentation, routings, and process improvements
  • Support production teams with engineering problem-solving

Days 61–90

  • Independently manage manufacturing improvement projects
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives and process enhancements
  • Support tooling, material handling, and production engineering activities
  • Become a trusted engineering resource for manufacturing operations
