Description
The Manufacturing Engineer will serve as a technical resource at Depatie, providing engineering oversight for manufacturing initiatives.
Requirements
Manufacturing Initiatives
- Scope, propose, design, document, build, and validate new manufacturing equipment or improvements to existing equipment (e.g. hydraulic test stands, assembly/fabrication equipment, capital equipment, infrastructure projects, among others.)
- Develop and implement processes, internal standards, work instructions, test procedures, and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) documents for existing products and new product developments
- Lead continuous improvement of manufacturing efficiency by applying lean principles to analyze and optimize workflow, space utilization, and equipment layout.
- Provide decision-making data by calculating production, labor, and material costs; estimating future requirements.
- Provide direct support to Assembly and Technician groups during line-down situations
- Develop and execute preventative maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, calibration procedures, and training documentation
- Perform and coordinate maintenance and repair activities to ensure equipment uptime and reliability.
Cross-Functional Support
- Site quality responsibilities in coordination with the quality manager.
- Lead application of risk management practices to manufacturing operations
- Own or support root cause investigation, implementation, and closure of quality issues
- Support proper disposition of potentially non-conforming product including disassembly, sorting, scrap, rework, and vendor return.
- Own equipment validation/qualification and MSA of internal processes
- Support sales team in manufacturing related customer inquiries.
- Lead cross-functional and engineering teams on projects as assigned.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the business.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of technical experience, preferably in hydraulics or pneumatics.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience utilizing structured problem-solving methods such as 8D and 5-Why
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits and troubleshooting
- Basic understanding of industrial automation and PLC controls
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 or similar Quality Management System
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
- Familiarity with machining, grinding, fabrication or CNC operations
Work Environment
- This position requires regular on-site presence in both office and manufacturing environments. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required.
Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel may be required (<10%) for vendor visits, training, or support of other Depatie locations.
