Job Overview:

Vertiv is currently looking to hire a new Manufacturing Engineer to the Anderson, SC team. The Manufacturing Engineers serves as a liaison to management on manufacturing, quality, process and engineering related issues. The manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the technical support of the product line. Successful Manufacturing Engineers provide technical support and typically will be the owner of projects, documentation, lean, cost reductions, equipment implementations, projects follow up, transferences, production lines set up and safety in process. The Manufacturing Engineers must assess and anticipates needs for the business and find solutions to problems that impact production and quality, as well as adapt capacity and capability of productive processes to satisfy business demand.  Commute proactively with production associates and business management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with Management to develop solutions, programs, and procedures. 
  • Work closely with Safety and Health departments to assure production areas set up, provide tooling and fixtures to productive areas, and notify any engineering change to production associates and leaders.
  • Provides day to day guidance to management and or associates on potential changes that impact production line volumes, quality, safety, or deliveries.
  • Oversee the transition of products from internal and external sources to our manufacturing plant including, buy vs make decisions and job move programs from other countries. 
  • Documentation of products through use of Bills of Materials, Routers, Value stream maps, Flow charts, spreadsheets drawings, videos, or digital photos. Create Engineering deviations or Engineering Change Requests.
  • Utilize software for documentation and drawing of products, Auto-Cad, PRO-E or other as required. 
  • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follow-up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Implement appropriation requests for machines, software, or tooling through written documentation with supporting information. 
  • Guarantee the compliance of company procedures and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of high-level experience in manufacturing or productive areas transferences desirable.
  • Ability to work in a large, global corporate structure.
  • Self-starter. Ability to solve problems, take responsibility and deliver results with a spirit of innovation and strong commitment to excellence.
  • High English proficiency (read, write, and speak).
  • Desirable experience using MRP or Enterprise systems in Engineering or Manufacturing.
  • Six Sigma, lean manufacturing and other SPC quality tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Passport and US Visa desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
