At Spartronics, the Corporate Manufacturing Cost Analyst plays a critical role in developing accurate and competitive labor and process cost estimates for complex manufacturing programs in the aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial sectors. This position is part of our centralized engineering and quoting team and is instrumental in supporting high-quality bid proposals that align with customer expectations and internal manufacturing capabilities.


What a Day Looks Like:

  • Analyze and develop labor and process cost estimates using engineering documentation, historical performance data, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Build and maintain cost element structures to capture all direct and indirect labor costs in electronics manufacturing.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Program Management teams to establish labor cost-estimating relationships and process standards.
  • Interpret technical documentation, including BOMs, assembly drawings, work instructions, and routings, to assess labor effort and production flow.
  • Monitor actual performance versus quoted estimates to improve quoting accuracy and drive continuous improvement.
  • Deliver financial reporting, cost trends, and analysis to support bid strategy and pricing decisions.
  • Contribute to the development of cost modeling tools and standardized quoting templates.
  • Recommend process improvements to drive efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs.

Requirements

 Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Engineering preferred; 5+ Years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Contract Electronics Manufacturing with a focus on cost estimating, manufacturing engineering, or cost analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes in electronics (SMT, through-hole, electromechanical assembly, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze labor and process costs within a contract manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with CAD information and data, along with experience in CAD tools such as Valor.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR regulations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the aerospace and defense electronics manufacturing sector.
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and cost reduction strategies.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and how labor routing impacts cost modeling.
  • Experience supporting RFP/RFQ processes and collaborating with Program Management or Business Development.

Work Location: This is a full-time, on-site role at our Logan, UT or Brooksville, FL manufacturing locations. Candidates must live within daily commuting distance.
