Job Overview:

Client Vehicle Build & POD Coordination Services

1. Purpose

Client's Manufacturing Development Center (MDC) requires a staff augmentation resource to support vehicle build coordination and Production-Oriented Design (POD) activities for active Mosaic PAR programs (47V, 47F, and related platforms). The resource will work on-site under Client direction as an embedded member of the MDC team.

2. Background

The Manufacturing Development Center (MDC) is responsible for driving manufacturing readiness by shifting design validation earlier in the development process. MDC leads Production-Oriented Design (POD) workshops during B-sample and C-sample phases of PAR programs, bringing together Design Engineering, Plant Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Program Management to resolve manufacturability issues before production launch.

MDC supports 9+ active PAR programs through 2032. The 47V (Western Star X-Series) and 47F (Blue Thunder M2/SD) programs are the primary focus for 2026–2027 as part of the broader Project Mosaic initiative.

3. Scope of Work

The resource shall support MDC in the following areas under the Task Manager's direction:

Vehicle Build Coordination (47V, 47F, and additional programs as assigned)

  • Maintain vehicle build timelines and communicate schedule changes to stakeholders.
  • Track parts, BOM, and Spec status including CWO tracking; produce weekly status reports on missing or at-risk parts.
  • Coordinate POD workshops: scheduling, participant confirmation, material preparation, and post-workshop documentation.
  • Log and track shop calls and build issues; maintain status updates and follow escalation paths.
  • Support build readiness reviews and Go/Go-Later decision gates.

Digital and Physical POD Coordination

  • Own coordination of Physical POD sessions: scheduling, stakeholder alignment, and documentation of findings.
  • Facilitate Physical POD Workshops including setup, introductions, technical role assignments, issue documentation and review, and audio/video and recordings management.
  • Support the connection between digital findings and physical build planning.
  • Support coordination of Digital POD sessions with DTICI: scheduling, stakeholder alignment, and documentation of findings.
  • Track and distribute outputs from POD reviews.
  • Maintain issue logs from validation activities and ensure ownership is assigned and tracked.

General Coordination Support

  • POD facilitation and documentation for shop calls, program reviews, and planning sessions.
  • Weekly consolidated report covering risks, open shop calls, and action items.
  • Dashboard data upkeep and maintenance (Power BI inputs, visual management displays).

4. Client-Furnished Resources

  • On-site workspace and facility badge at Corp 17.
  • Access to IT systems (Microsoft Teams, Power BI, SharePoint, network drives).
  • Access to engineering systems as needed (Teamcenter for BOM reference, view-only).
  • Existing process documentation and templates.
  • Introductions to cross-functional stakeholders.

5. Resource Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 3 years of planning and coordination experience in a technical environment.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple work streams and competing priorities.
  • Confident presenting to and facilitating large groups (30–80+ participants) including technicians, engineers, managers, and senior leadership; must be comfortable commanding a room and keeping discussions on track.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to hold participants accountable, redirect conversations, and manage difficult personalities without escalating tension.
  • Personable and approachable; able to build rapport quickly across functions and levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Apps (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).

Preferred

  • Manufacturing, automotive, or heavy vehicle industry background.
  • Experience with product development processes (sample builds, design reviews, milestone gates).
  • Familiarity with BOM management or parts tracking.
  • Power BI or data visualization experience.
  • Jira or similar project management tools (Kanban, Scrum, DevOps).
  • Experience in a pre-series or prototype build environment.

6. Period of Performance

August 1, 2026 – July 31, 2027.

7. Work Management and Oversight

  • Client Task Manager: Manager – MDC — responsible for task prioritization, daily direction, and performance oversight.
  • Work assignments may originate from multiple MDC team members; the Task Manager retains authority over prioritization.
  • Weekly status meetings (minimum).
  • Monthly progress reviews.

8. Performance Expectations

The resource is expected to operate as an embedded team member under Client direction. Performance is assessed on responsiveness, reliability, communication quality, and ability to work independently within the defined scope.
