Position Summary
The Industrial Engineer - PLC/HMI Programmer will be responsible for various tasks related to the development and delivery of custom process and control automation solutions.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Write and develop Project Functional Technical Specifications, Testing Documents, etc. from start to finish
- Integrate full coordinated motion systems across new and existing equipment.
- Write and develop custom scripts using various languages such as JavaScript, Pytho, C++, Python.
- Conduct system testing and commissioning to ensure the accurate function of new systems.
- Development and spec out of components, vision systems, PLCs, motion controls for new projects.
- Design safety systems to ensure safe working conditions around equipment.
- Write and develop HMI software applications
- Write and develop PLC software programs
- Interface with PLC control systems, database applications (SQL Server) and other data sources
- Design Control Panels
- Assist in the startup and commissioning of automation systems
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to define control system requirements.
- Conduct system testing and validation to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to existing PLC and HMI systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, related field, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of Autocad Electrical or similar schematic software.
- 3-5 years of experience in PLC and HMI programming.
- In-depth knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram.
- Experience with various HMI and PLC platforms is required (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Industrial Automation, Automation Direct).
- Excellent organizational and personal time management skills required
- Strong analytical skills, as well as technical writing and oral communication skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
