Job Overview:

JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE 

The Manufacturing Associate Assembly 2 is responsible for performing intermediate-level cable assembly and manufacturing operations involving cables, harnesses, and related electronic assemblies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is expected to work with increased independence, support production quality and workflow, and assist in the training and development of entry-level manufacturing associates.

The Manufacturing Associate Assembly 2 demonstrates proficiency in manufacturing processes, assembly techniques, tooling, and production documentation while supporting departmental production goals and quality standards. This role may be assigned more complex assemblies, specialized equipment, and cross-functional production support responsibilities based on business needs.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Including but not limited to:

  • Build cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and related products of varying complexity in accordance with manufacturing instructions, drawings, and quality standards. 
  • Perform intermediate-level manufacturing operations using a variety of hand tools, equipment, fixtures, and production machinery. 
  • Read and interpret manufacturing instructions, assembly drawings, diagrams, travelers, and process documentation. 
  • Identify workmanship concerns, non-conformances, material issues, or process problems and communicate concerns to leads or supervisors. 
  • Support production schedules, workflow, and departmental manufacturing goals. 
  • Assist with training and guidance of entry-level manufacturing associates on routine assembly tasks and processes. 
  • Maintain accurate production reporting and product traceability within company manufacturing software systems. 
  • Utilize computer systems and software, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and manufacturing/MRP systems. 
  • Support implementation of process updates or procedural changes as directed. 
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety within assigned work areas. 
  • Properly use assigned tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE). 
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards. 
  • Communicate effectively with team members, leads, supervisors, quality personnel, and other departments. 
  • Work cooperatively within a team-oriented manufacturing environment. 
  • Support overtime and changing production priorities as required by business needs. 
  • Perform other duties, departmental support tasks, or special projects as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to build cable assemblies and related products with limited supervision. 
  • Working knowledge of cable assembly techniques, manufacturing processes, and production workflow. 
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow manufacturing instructions, drawings, and diagrams. 
  • Ability to recognize basic quality concerns and manufacturing non-conformances. 
  • Proficiency using standard manufacturing hand tools, measuring equipment, and area-specific production equipment. 
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing software systems. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain product quality and accuracy. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 
  • Ability to assist in training and supporting lower-level manufacturing associates. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing production priorities and operational needs. 
  • Ability to work independently on routine manufacturing tasks while contributing to team objectives.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • Minimum of one (1) year of internal manufacturing experience or two (2) years of related manufacturing experience preferred. 
  • Previous cable assembly, electronics manufacturing, or production experience preferred. 
  • Basic computer and manufacturing software skills required. 
  • Ability to understand manufacturing workflow from raw material through final product output preferred.


PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is conducted primarily in a warehouse and production environment and involves frequent movement, including walking, standing, lifting, and handling materials. Work may require operating material-handling equipment and performing tasks in areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, and typical industrial conditions. HOURS: 

  • Full-time position. 
  • Standard work schedule is a minimum of forty (40) hours per week. 
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business and production demands.
