Our Grand Rapids MI location is currently seeking a Manufacturing Area Supervisor. This role is responsible for leading the safe, efficient, and quality-focused operation of multiple manufacturing departments while ensuring production, delivery, and cost targets are achieved through approximately 50 associates and frontline leaders. Additional responsibilities include:
- Lead daily operations across assigned production areas to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets are achieved.
- Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies, conducting audits, addressing hazards, accident investigations and by driving incident prevention initiatives.
- Manage, coach, and develop leads and associates while promoting accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor production performance metrics, identify operational issues, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures.
- Partner with maintenance, engineering, supply chain, and other departments to resolve problems, optimize processes, and support business objectives.
- Oversee workforce planning, scheduling, and labor utilization to meet customer demand while controlling labor costs.
- Reduced scrap, rework, and downtime through active supervision
- Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborating with Engineering and Maintenance to bring in new equipment and maximize capital investments.
Educational and Technical Requirements include:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred.
- 3–5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- ERP experience preferred (Epicor and Business Central).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and highly organized is a must.
- Ability to read and interpret detail prints, including some advanced GD&T
