Job Overview:

Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating manual machines and a keen eye for detail. This position requires excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and operate manual machines, such as lathes, mills, and grinders
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements
  • Perform precision measurements using various measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers
  • Maintain and repair manual machines as needed
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and guidelines
  • Collaborate with team members to improve machining processes and efficiency
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements

 EDUCATION, TRAINING and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Journeyman license preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a manual machinist

 ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS and/or PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  

  •   Required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls: reach with hands and arms; balance; talk or hear. 
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, minimum. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is/or may be exposed to any number of dust, dirt, heat, fumes, cold, noise, vibration, water, oil etc but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.  Employee will also be required to wear safety glasses and/or safety gloves.

TECHNICAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, and/or LICENSES: 

  • Understand schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications. 
  • Strong knowledge of manual machining techniques and best practices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Proficient in the use of measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
