Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team in Fremont, CA. This role is responsible for setting up and operating manual machining equipment, including Bridgeport mills and conventional lathes, to produce high-quality precision components. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate manual machining equipment, including Bridgeport mills and conventional lathes
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to determine machining requirements
  • Perform precision machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, and tapping
  • Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and work area
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments
  • Collaborate with team members, engineers, and supervisors to improve processes and efficiency

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficient in operating Bridgeport mills and conventional lathes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating a ProtoTRAK mill is a strong plus
  • Background in prototype or low-volume production environments
  • Basic knowledge of CNC machining is a plus

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Full-time position
  • Standard day shift (hours may vary based on production needs)
  • Shop environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and metal materials
