Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate manual engine lathes to machine parts to exact specifications.

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.

• Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to ensure precision and quality control.

• Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.

• Select and install cutting tools, speeds, and feeds based on material properties.

• Work with various metals, including steel, aluminum, brass, and exotic alloys.

• Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments.

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience operating an engine lathe in a machine shop environment.

• Strong understanding of machining techniques, tooling, and materials.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

• Knowledge of shop math, including geometry and trigonometry.

• Familiarity with other manual machines such as milling machines and grinders is a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and within a team.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification is a plus.
