Overview

NW Industrial Staffing is seeking a Manual Machinist for a machine shop in Cottage Grove, OR that manufactures and repairs machinery and equipment for the timber and milling industries. This is an evaluation for a hiring opportunity for a machinist who shares the same high standards and performance expectations as the company.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual machining equipment, including lathes, mills, and grinders.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining processes.
• Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet required tolerances and specifications.
• Maintain and troubleshoot machining equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance productivity.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manual lathe & mill experience.
• Previous experience using surface grinders, drill presses, and dynamic balancers.
• Previous experience in repairing parts and components, as well as troubleshooting errors.
• Proficient in using inspection tools and techniques to produce quality work while holding tolerances to less than .001 of an inch.
• Strong understanding of machining principles and practices.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Job Details

• Location: Cottage Grove, OR
• Days: Monday – Thursday with an occasional Friday
• Hours: 6 AM to 4:30 PM
• Pay: $28/h to $32/h
• Drug Screen NOT including THC
