Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machinist to join our team. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machines to produce high-quality precision components for tooling to make parts according to customer specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced job shop environment.   • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining requirements.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each machining operation.
  • Align and secure workpieces using clamps, vises, and other holding devices.
  • Perform machining operations, including turning, facing, boring, drilling, tapping, milling, surface grinding, and threading, with precision and adherence to quality standards.
  • Inspect machined components using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and Optical Comparators, to verify part accuracy.
  • Make necessary adjustments and modifications to tooling to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues and related to stamping and fabricating tooling.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams improve product quality through better tool design. 
  • Set up and operate CNC Machining Center and Wire EDM (as required, training available).
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Complete work orders, production reports, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Requirements


  • High school diploma, GED, or technical school certificate.
  • Experience as a Manual Machinist in a fabricating job shop or similar environment. 
  • Proficiency in operating manual machining tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses.
  • Strong knowledge of machining techniques, tooling, and cutting parameters.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Excellent understanding of precision measuring instruments and inspection methods.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving machining issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
