Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Manual horizontal Lathe Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining and be proficient in operating large flatbed manual horizontal lathes. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. The Manual Machinist will play a crucial role in producing high-quality components while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Duties

• Operate large horizontal manual lathes, to produce precision parts.
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications and tolerances.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain tooling and hand tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
• Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
• Engage in continuous improvement efforts within the manufacturing process.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in machining processes.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
• Ability to operate power tools, forklifts, and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles is preferred.
