Job Overview:

The IMB is seeking a strategic, service‑minded leader to serve as Managing Director of Global Access, a critical role within Global Enterprise Services.

Location: Preferably Richmond, VA

Rate: Commensurate with experience + great benefits!

In this role, you will help equip and sustain approximately 3,600 global personnel by stewarding visa, residency, and entity‑based access solutions that enable durable presence and maximize gospel engagement. You will lead IMB’s Access Center of Excellence, providing high‑quality operational support while navigating complex regulatory, geopolitical, and compliance environments. Through strong partnerships, thoughtful strategy, and decisive leadership, you will help ensure that access challenges never outpace mission opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Vision

-Set the vision, priorities, and global standards for IMB’s access solutions, ensuring alignment with mission strategy and operational realities.

-Shape and steward access pathways—including visas, residency, work authorizations, and entity‑based platforms—that support long‑term sustainability and resilience.

-Monitor regulatory, legal, and geopolitical developments affecting global access, advising senior leadership on risks, opportunities, and strategic adjustments.

  • Operational Excellence & Governance

-Lead the governance, compliance, and performance oversight of 200+ IMB for‑profit and nonprofit entities worldwide.

-Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and risk assessment across all access and entity activities.

-Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations regarding entity creation, modification, or closure.

-Approve—or recommend approval of—capital investments that support access initiatives, in alignment with policy and fiduciary standards.

  • Collaboration & Problem Solving

-Partner cross‑functionally to ensure access strategies are fully integrated with organizational objectives and regional realities.

-Establish clear standards and guidance for Global Logistics Services related to visas, residency, work permits, and entity management.

-Ensure timely, dependable resolution of complex or escalated access issues, coordinating with internal teams and external advisors.

  • Continuous Improvement & Global Readiness

-Develop and deploy tools, procedures, and resources that strengthen global readiness, reduce operational disruption, and improve consistency and quality of support.

-Promote best practices and a culture of continuous improvement across access operations.

  • External Engagement & Representation

-Build and maintain trusted relationships with SBC churches, partners, and key stakeholders.

-Represent IMB’s access strategy and priorities to external constituencies, advancing organizational objectives and mission impact.

    Requirements:

    • Education- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, International Business, International Relations, or a closely related field required; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., compliance, risk, legal, or international operations) preferred.
    • Experience- Minimum of 8–10 years of progressively responsible experience in global operations, international access, compliance, risk management, legal/entity administration, or a related field, with demonstrated leadership over complex, multi‑country portfolios.
    • Analytical & Strategic Judgment- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex regulatory, financial, and operational data; identify trends, risks, and anomalies; and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
    • Communication & Influence-Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with proven ability to numerous departments, senior leadership, external stakeholders and to present complex access or compliance issues clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
    • Process & Systems Development- Proven experience designing, implementing, and improving tools, processes, and governance frameworks that support global compliance, risk mitigation, operational consistency, and scalability.
    • Leadership & Collaboration- Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional teams and collaborating across legal, finance, logistics, HR, and regional stakeholders in complex, multicultural environments.
