The Supply Chain Quality & Compliance Manager is a corporate role responsible for the initial approval, control and ongoing monitoring of approved co-manufacturing locations, suppliers of ingredients & packaging materials, and third-party warehouses providing services to CH Guenther and Son. They work closely with our supply chain, purchasing and distribution functions to assure we are receiving safe, high-quality products & services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designing / developing, implementing and maintaining the corporate supply chain quality program.
- Define existing and active supply chain elements. (Ingredient & Packaging suppliers, contract manufacturers, 3PL warehouses, licensees, joint ventures, brokers, distributors, etc…)
- Work with business partners to assure where contracts are required, there is quality language and expectations in those contracts
- Work with business partners to assure there is a program to require adequate liability insurance coverage
- Assure accurate specifications are agreed upon and in place at partner locations.
- Ensure that specifications are part of contracts and enforceable
- Assure CHG purchases only GRAS ingredients as appropriate
- Develop, communicate & maintain documented supply chain standards of operation.
- Co-manufacturing, Warehouse, & Supplier Expectation Manuals
- Develop, implement & maintain a partner approval process
- Use a risk based assessment process for approvals
- Develop, implement & maintain an audit, inspection, or assessment process that includes:
- Audit expectations, frequency, risk ratings, and performance ratings
- Audit scoring and a formal documented process for documenting and following up on audit findings
- Develop, implement & maintain an exemption process for emergency situations
- Develop, implement & maintain an approved partners list
- No purchases may be made from unapproved partners without proper documentation
- Assure partner approval is by producing location not company
- Assure CHG facilities have access to the list and use it to approve materials for receipt and use in their plants
- Ensure the proper database or other tool (TraceGains) is utilized to assure proper documentation is in place for each partner and location:
- Drive compliance of documentation collection and renewal. Create metrics and reports to track and communicate compliance.
- Continuing Guarantees, Third Party Audit Certificates, Kosher/Halal Certificates, Supplier Survey, etc…
- Maintain records of all activities. Preference that recordkeeping be electronic and readily accessible.
- Develop, implement & maintain a process for logging, tracking, and trending partner complaints.
- Lead and drive resolution of complaints via CHG’s CAPA process
- Develop, implement and maintain an auditor calibration process, current auditor qualifications and an approved CHG auditor list
- Work together with the R&D, Procurement, Purchasing and Supply Chain to get new suppliers approved.
- Assure the program is fully GFSI and customer auditable
- Assure quality group operates in a safe manner and follows all company human safety requirements.
- Network with other companies & industry experts to capture best practices
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in food manufacturing plants/operation
- Certifications (preferred): HACCP, PCQI, SQF Practitioner, Lead Auditor Certification.
- Experience conducting supplier, co-manufacturer, and warehouse audits.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient use of a computer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), and other related applications or software.
- Ability to analyze data, manage risks, and drive quality improvements across the supply chain.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of associates and customers ranging from entry level to executive level positions.

- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, often with competing deadlines.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Primarily office-based, but regular presence in the plant is required to interact with plant operations, leadership, and staff. You may be required to visit different areas of the plant to observe operations and gather data where you will be exposed to unusual elements (dirt, dust, fumes, odors, noise).
- Must be able to lift up and carry 15 pounds at times.
- Substantial travel required (up to 70%) mostly in the United States.

$93,598.00 - $173,668.00
