WHAT YOU GET TO DO

The Manager Software Commissioning is responsible for the team members to follow processes and instructions accordingly and for the assigned projects to be implemented successfully. Success is measured based on project quality, duration, and costs. The holder of this position is also capable of implementing projects, taking on the role of direct reports on certain projects.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
:         

  • Be the technical contact for team members as well as other departments
  • Responsible for successful project implementation within the responsible team for assigned projects
  • Manage project implementation with the team based on deadlines, costs, and quality
  • Responsible for review of general specifications for Software Final Engineering
  • Lead performance reviews of team members
  • Train new software commissioning Team Leads
  • Handle resource planning of department
  • Assign tasks and projects to Team Leads and members
  • Hold and lead team meetings
  • Review, check, and approve hours of direct reports
  • In coordination with department and business area management:
    • Responsible to fulfill professional and on time assign team tasks and targets
  • Create project and resource schedule in coordination with technical departments
  • Review project scope regarding layout, flow control and implementation in coordination with technical departments
  • Recognize and identify design and concept flaws/errors
  • Recognize and identify unexpected additional developments
  • Create risk assessment
  • Participate in steering committee of assigned projects
  • Attend all relevant meetings for assigned projects
  • Manage and monitor assigned budget of the Software Commissioning department


WHAT YOU HAVE

  • Strong knowledge of KNAPP processes, products, and solutions
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of KNAPP’s company structure and organization
  • Extensive experience in implementation and execution of KNAPP projects
  • Strong English skills
  • Knowledge of project management and of tools being used for project management
  • Knowledge of computer systems and Windows operating system
  • Experience in project startup/commissioning 
  • Strong knowledge in Java or C++
  • Strong knowledge in SQL, databases, and Linux

Working Conditions and Environment:

  • Overtime (occasional) as required by work  
  • Travel is required, up to 30%
  • Passport or ability to obtain passport
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Professional office etiquette is required at all times
  • Physical requirements: 
    • sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, climbing a ladder, speaking, visual acuity, finger dexterity, listening, reaching at arm’s length, and lifting up to 50 pounds
