Position Overview

Sherwood Bedding is seeking an experienced, hands-on Quality Control Manager to join our growing team.

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for maintaining and improving product and process quality throughout the manufacturing operation. This position works closely with production and operations teams to identify quality concerns, determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and improve overall customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly on the manufacturing floor. We are looking for someone with a hands-on, team-focused attitude who is willing to step in and assist wherever needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain quality standards and procedures for raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished products.

  • Partner with manufacturing and production teams to ensure established quality standards are consistently followed.

  • Develop and implement procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating products, materials, production equipment, and manufacturing processes.

  • Conduct quality assurance testing and analyze results to identify trends and areas for improvement.

  • Investigate product nonconformities, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Monitor customer complaints and quality concerns and develop solutions to reduce recurring issues.

  • Collect, analyze, and report quality-related data and key performance indicators.

  • Develop and maintain quality control plans, specifications, procedures, and documentation.

  • Conduct internal quality audits and ensure compliance with established company standards.

  • Support production teams in resolving quality issues quickly and effectively.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process.

  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

  • Strong understanding of quality control practices within a manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to collect, analyze, and communicate quality-related data.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.

  • Hands-on approach with the ability to work collaboratively with production and operations teams.

  • Strong project management and follow-through skills.

Education & Experience

  • 2–5 years of quality control or quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Previous hands-on manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience with root-cause analysis, corrective actions, quality inspections, and process improvement preferred.

  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant manufacturing experience will be considered.
