Job Overview:

Company Overview:

MP Materials (NYSE: MP) is rebuilding American industrial capability for a new era of autonomy, robotics, and electrification.

We are the only U.S. company with a fully integrated rare earth supply chain—from mining and refining to advanced metal and magnet manufacturing. Our products include both the critical materials used to make permanent magnets and the finished magnets themselves—enabling next-generation technologies in robotics, automation, aerospace, transportation, defense, and energy systems. These materials are the foundation of physical AI—the convergence of computation, movement, and control.

We hire ambitious, mission-driven people who want to tackle complex challenges and shape the future of strategic industries. Our culture is rooted in teamwork, resiliency, and integrity, with a deep commitment to operational excellence and national purpose. MP is rapidly evolving from a materials producer into a leading U.S. manufacturer—and our people are driving that transformation.

Position Overview:

The Manager of Information Management is responsible for establishing and leading the information governance framework across MP Materials’ Capital Projects organization. This role focuses on engineering documentation, contractor submittals, drawing control, transmittals, and lifecycle data management from project development through construction, commissioning, and turnover to operations.

This individual will build and standardize workflows that support front-end engineering, detailed design, procurement, construction execution, and final handover. The role is heavily project-facing and requires close coordination with Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, Procurement, contractors, and suppliers to ensure information flows accurately and efficiently throughout the capital project lifecycle.

This is a foundational role in building disciplined information management processes for large-scale greenfield advanced manufacturing projects.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead the Capital Projects information management framework across all active programs.
  • Develop standardized workflows for engineering deliverables, contractor submittals, transmittals, RFIs, and revision control.
  • Implement and govern document numbering systems, metadata standards, and project-specific filing structures.
  • Oversee engineering drawing control including IFC, IFA, IFR, as-built documentation, and revision tracking.
  • Manage Master Document Registers (MDRs) and ensure accurate tracking of engineering deliverables.
  • Coordinate closely with EPC/EPCM contractors to ensure compliance with project documentation requirements.
  • Ensure supplier data, vendor drawings, technical submittals, and material documentation are properly reviewed, approved, and archived.
  • Support P&ID reviews, design package coordination, and multidisciplinary document alignment.
  • Establish structured turnover and handover documentation processes to support commissioning and operational readiness.
  • Ensure all capital project documentation is centralized, traceable, and audit-ready.
  • Drive implementation and optimization of document management platforms supporting capital projects.
  • Build and mentor document control staff supporting capital programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project workflows, document lifecycle management, and contractor interface protocols.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting capital projects in engineering, construction, or industrial environments.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing document control or project information teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering workflows, MDRs, transmittals, and contractor documentation.
  • Experience interfacing with EPC/EPCM contractors and engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of capital project lifecycles from design through commissioning.
  • Experience with project document management systems such as COREWORX, PROCORE, EcoSys, or similar.

Desired Qualities:

  • Strong understanding of engineering deliverables, drawing control, and multidisciplinary project coordination.
  • Experience in greenfield or large-scale industrial capital programs.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, construction-driven environments.
  • Ability to balance structure and flexibility while building new processes.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
