WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:
The American Red Cross is seeking a creative Manager, Incentive Compensation Programs to evaluate, design, and develop incentive programs across a variety of businesses and job levels. The role provides thought leadership and consultation to Senior Leaders, HR leaders and cross functional business unit teams to creatively design incentive programs that align with mission and business unit priorities within a non-profit organization. Additionally, the role encompasses strategic influence, leadership of project initiatives, and tactical execution.
The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work 100% remotely from home and can be located anywhere in the United States with a preference to work East Coast or Central hours.
WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):
1. Serve as thought leader to Total Rewards management and business unit leaders on the design, development and implementation of a variety of short-term incentive programs aligned with best practices and specific business unit initiatives.
2. Study and analyze market trends, total cash compensation levels and best practices to determine optimal variable pay alignment with base pay programs. Design or improve existing incentive plan constructs to support strategy.
3. Lead a remote team including a Sr. Analyst and Consultant focused on incentive program and data analysis and recommendations with direct impact on department goals and planning.
4. Collaborate with client groups to engage them in building and completing incentive design, recommending enhancements, and framing clear communications. Manage team through all phases including concept, development, implementation and closeout. Teams include compensation, HR communications, HR partners, HRIS, business unit managers and executives.
5. Collaborate with teams to explore system automation (Workday, external databases) for tracking, calculations, communications and reporting. Work to continually create organization-wide administrative simplicity and standards in plan documentation for compliance and understanding.
Scope: people manager that interprets and administers policies, process, and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate units.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications):
• Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources or related field, or equivalent relevant education and/or experience required.
o CCP certification or progress toward CCP is preferred but not required.
• Experience:
o Minimum of 5 years Compensation experience with focus on incentive programs.
o A minimum 3 year people management experience required.
o Experience in design of programs to achieve business / organization goals with focus on executive and management level alignment and consideration of market data.
o Ability to conduct research, stay abreast of marketplace changes, engage external consultants where applicable, and deliver presentations to various level stakeholders.
• Skills and Abilities:
o Strong interpersonal/collaboration skills.
o Ability to interface with all levels within the organization and external partners in a fully remote role.
o Proven ability to present information through virtual platforms to groups of various sizes and job levels, including top executives.
o Ability to lead and develop teams, prioritize and multitask and be accountable to team and department deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
o Strong analytical and quantitative skills and attention to detail & accuracy required.
o Experience with Microsoft or similar applications, Workday and Market Pay.
WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (preferred qualifications):
o Experience with designing incentive programs/plans in a non-for-profit environment strongly preferred.
* Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
