Position: Manager II, Process Engineer

Duties: Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; identifying and communicating goals and objectives; building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; identifying and addressing improvement opportunities; and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training; mentoring; assigning duties; providing recognition; and ensuring diversity awareness. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy; and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices. Leads Process Improvement tools and methods (for example, 5S, root cause analysis, six sigma, time and motion studies) to eliminate losses in an area within a Distribution Center according to Network Process Structure using Walmart Performance System (WPS) programs. Delivers expected functional area results through Key Performance Indicator (KPI) analysis, loss elimination, and by creating standard work to reduce process variation. Assists with the review and response of process improvement projects owned by area managers. Applies new network One Best Way playbooks and provides input to Divisional Focused Improvement Teams on project ideation and replication opportunities. Leads savings projects within area of responsibility by taking loss out of the process. Promotes and supports company policies, initiatives, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. Assists with the tactical deployment of the WPS program methodology. Manages project execution of top losses in the functional area and assists in building the capability of other area managers and associates. Supports area loss profile analysis and performance metrics. Develops gap analysis to support WPS integration. Supports Department Managers with WPS programs, projects, associate engagement, and KPI improvements within process area. Position may work at various unanticipated Walmart locations throughout the U.S.
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field plus 3 years of experience in process improvement or related field.
Skills Required: Must have experience with: Lean Manufacturing Principles and Six Sigma Methodologies: Waste reduction, time and motion studies, 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), Kaizen events, visual management, value stream mapping, continuous improvement, DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), and statistical analysis techniques are used to identify root causes of defects and variability in processes; Leading and participating in Six Sigma projects aimed at reducing defects, improving process capability, and achieving quantifiable cost savings; Implementing production smoothing techniques: Heijunka to level production schedules, reduce lead times, and enhancing production flexibility, minimizing inventory levels, and meeting customer demand while balancing production constraints; Assembly line sequencing and failure mode and effects analysis: optimizing assembly line operations through strategic sequencing to minimize bottlenecks, reduce cycle times, and maximize throughput; AutoCAD Software; Kanban Systems and Automation - Implement Kanban for visual inventory management, demand-driven replenishment, and pull-based production control; Applying autonomation (jidoka) principles: integrate quality control into production processes, enabling early detection and prevention of defects; Data analysis and statistical tools: data analysis tools such as Excel or Python or Minitab or R for statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and predictive modeling; Robotics and Automation Expertise: designing, implementing, and maintaining robotic systems and automated solutions within a warehouse or distribution center setting; Automation Integration: integrating various automated systems, such as conveyor belts, sorting equipment, to optimize workflow and enhance operational efficiency; Project management tools (Jira and/or Confluence). Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or professional experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $65,000 to $139,000. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives
