Job Summary:

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hatchery, including planning and executing special projects to maintain an optimal hatching environment while ensuring cost-effectiveness. Key responsibilities include:

  • Administering personnel policies fairly and consistently.
  • Making weekly projections and sourcing external resources when necessary.
  • Calculating hatchery mechanical performance and implementing preventative maintenance.
  • Coordinating with Hen Growers and Breeder Technicians to produce high-quality eggs.
  • Arranging for chick delivery to farms.
  • Performing additional duties as needed.
  • Assure total hatchery process control is being followed.
  • Collaborate with the Live Manager and corporate hatchery team to ensure the incubation process is correct.
  • Manage the hatchery facilities, including adding new capital projects, to ensure the longevity of the hatchery.
  • Manage the sanitation process to ensure proper hatchery cleanliness
  • Work with the Broiler team to ensure high-quality, thrifty chicks are sent to the farm
  • Assist the hatchery supervisor in training and leading the hatchery team.
  • Lead the hatchery supervisor in a manner that will enhance their knowledge and aptitude.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required. Grow out/Animal welfare areas experience preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Basic proficiency, including checking email, entering data into templates/spreadsheets, and creating simple queries.
  • Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year.
  • Supervisory Skills: Responsible for supervising a team within a single department or work unit, ensuring tasks a
