Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Leader


Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic, commercially minded FP&A leader/team member to help drive financial analysis & planning, performance management, and decision support across our business portfolio. This role will serve as a key business partner to executive leadership, sales and marketing to help accelerate profitable growth, improve visibility, and drive accountability across the organization.


Must have strong financial rigor with an understanding of the dynamics of the consumer packaged goods industry, including trade spend, retailer profitability, pricing, innovation, supply chain costs, and margin management.


This is a highly visible leadership role with significant exposure to senior executives and the opportunity to influence company strategy and operational execution.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Assist with the businesses’ annual operating plan (AOP), forecasting, long-range planning, and monthly financial review processes.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop growth strategies, profitability improvement initiatives, and investment priorities.
  • Deliver actionable financial insights and recommendations that support business decision-making.
  • Drive financial discipline and accountability across all business functions.

Business Performance & Analytics

  • Analyze financial and operational performance across brands, customers, channels, and product categories.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs related to revenue, gross margin, GTN/trade spend, SG&A, BME, etc.
  • Identify risks and opportunities within business financials and proactively recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead modeling and sensitivity analysis related to pricing, margins, promotions, and innovation launches amongst other responsibilities

Commercial Finance Partnership

  • Partner closely with Business Leaders, Sales and Marketing on:
  • Trade investment effectiveness
  • Promotional ROI
  • Customer profitability
  • Pricing and mix optimization
  • New item launches and innovation analysis
  • Support retailer line reviews, customer negotiations, and strategic growth initiatives with financial analysis and insights.
  • Help establish financial guardrails around customer investment and promotional spending.

Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Assist in monthly business reviews and executive financial reporting packages.
  • Improve financial planning tools/processes.
  • Build scalable dashboards and analytics capabilities to improve business visibility and speed.
  • Help drive a data-driven, performance-oriented culture.

Team Leadership

  • Build (if needed), mentor, and develop a high-performing FP&A team.
  • Foster strong cross-functional relationships and collaboration.
  • Establish a culture of ownership, curiosity, agility, and continuous improvement.


Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A leadership within a packaged goods, food & beverage, or consumer products company.
  • Strong understanding of CPG financial drivers including:
  • Trade spend management
  • Customer P&Ls
  • Gross-to-net analysis
  • Retailer economics
  • Pricing and promotional analytics
  • Supply chain and inventory management
  • Experience supporting executive leadership and cross-functional business teams.
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities.
  • Strong systems experience with ERP, forecasting, and BI tools.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with major retailers such as Walmart, Target, Costco, Kroger, Amazon, etc.
  • Experience supporting multiple brands or business units.
  • Familiarity with syndicated data sources (IRI/Circana/Nielsen) is a plus.
  • Experience in entrepreneurial business environments preferred but not necessary.
