Job Summary:

The Manager of Facilities Maintenance provides strategic and operational leadership for all facility, utility, and infrastructure systems that enable continuous plant operations across a 2.6 million square foot footprint. This role establishes the long-term direction for facilities reliability and sustainability while ensuring daily execution through effective planning, staffing, budgeting, and performance management of a 50–60 person, multi-shift organization. Responsibilities include developing and controlling both expense and capital investment plans, building workforce capability and coverage across five shifts, ensuring a strong safety culture, and leading initiatives that reduce energy consumption and operating risk. The position ensures that power distribution, compressed air, water, HVAC, building systems, and related infrastructure remain dependable, compliant, and cost-effective so production is never constrained by facility limitations. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Facility Maintenance and Engineering, this role connects business objectives with disciplined facilities management practices that protect assets, control costs, and sustain uninterrupted operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Oversees directly and through a group of leaders, the daily activities of DMTN Facilities Maintenance. 
  • Provides strategic leadership and direction to teams working across all of DMTN buildings and grounds including 5 manufacturing plants, 4 warehouses, 2 support function buildings, a health center, an associate center, switchyards/substations, nitrogen farms, and multiple mechanical and control rooms. 
  • Manages department for efficiency, cost savings, and availability focusing on zero production disturbances due to downtime on Facilities equipment and infrastructure.
  • Ensures adherence to safety requirements within responsible areas. Operates within OSHA and DENSO safety requirements.  Promotes safety as priority regardless of the perceived urgency of any situation.  Leader must set the example and expectation that safety is paramount in all activities.
  • Develops and maintains strong cross functional relationships, develops effective organizational planning, goal setting and a culture of continuous improvement.  Uses process improvement and direct engagement to enhance the skills and abilities of techs and leaders.  
  • Designs short-term strategies, procedures and people utilization with an end goal of improving efficiency, productivity, delivery and performance. These actions are to reduce cost and produce high value results for the campus.
  • Builds systems to maintain department quality and operation.  Regular follow up with team on current condition of the department and provide direction/priority to meet annual plan targets.
  • Lead reliability investigations and ensure predictive maintenance is being performed and followed up on for the Facilities equipment.
  • Quantifies and analyzes Facility Maintenance performance, equipment utilization, maintenance quality, people utilization, efficiency and operating/capital expenses.
  • Uses this data to make decisions for skill training and department capability advancement through training and/or capital investment.
  • Collaborates with customers and maintenance leaders to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement in Facility areas. 
  • Builds development plans for individuals and the department to achieve highest value from all resources. 
  • Creates operating budgets and capital budgets with other leadership team members. Manages department expense budget. Develops short and long-term cost containment/reduction strategies.  
  • Produces and presents business condition reports to top management.
  • Performs Human Resources activities including tracking of time and attendance, scheduling, associate counseling, discipline, evaluating work performance and assisting in skill development.  
  • Fosters high morale and teamwork by supporting the activities of subordinates through daily interaction and one on one contact.  
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Note: This position will require some off shift and weekend support (24/7 operation) based on campus activities  

Required Qualifications: 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field

  • Leadership experience in Maintenance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into actionable information and monitor achievement  
  • Experience in maintaining facilities that house highly automated, complex manufacturing process machinery and equipment 
  • Strong written and oral communications skills  
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects across multiple departments.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills  
  • Strong organizational and time management skills  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products  
  • In depth knowledge of maintenance methods, systems, procedures, and strategies
  • Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance methods and systems

Work Experience

  • 10+ years experience of progressively increasing levels of responsibility in maintenance management 

  • 3+ years hands on experience with facilities or manufacturing maintenance or equivalent field experience

Salary Range is **** $115,000.00 - $ 130,000.00
