We run multiple filling lines and several blow molding machines across [3 shifts. When they run, we ship. When they don't, everything behind them stops.
We're looking for someone who has already lived this — a maintenance leader who knows the difference between a filler that's “running” and a filler that's running right, who can walk a line and hear a problem before the sensor catches it, and who has built the kind of team that closes work orders because they own the outcome, not because someone chased them.
This is not a caretaker job. You will inherit [describe current state: an established program to scale / a reactive operation to rebuild / a greenfield expansion], and you will be measured on what changes.
**
**Uptime across the filling and blow molding platforms.
**Rotary and inline fillers, cappers, labelers, case packers, palletizers, and the blow molding equipment feeding them. You set the reliability strategy and you answer for OEE.
**A real preventive and predictive program.
**PM schedules that reflect how the equipment actually wears, not what the OEM manual said in 2009. Vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and condition monitoring where they pay for themselves.
**Work order discipline.
**Every request enters the CMMS, gets prioritized, gets assigned, gets closed with the notes that make the next repair faster. You own the backlog, the schedule compliance number, and the wrench-time behind it.
**Changeover and setup performance.
**Multiple SKUs, multiple bottle formats, multiple line speeds. You drive changeover times down and first-pass yield up in partnership with Production.
**Your people, across all shifts and sites.
**Hiring, training matrices, skills development, cross-training, and succession. You are visible on off-shifts — not by email, in person, on a rotation people can count on.
**Spare parts and MRO spend.
**Critical spares strategy, min/max levels, vendor relationships, and a stockroom that doesn't hide $200K of obsolete inventory.
**Capital projects.
**Scoping, justifying, and installing new lines and equipment upgrades. You write the business case and you stand behind the numbers.
**Safety and compliance.
**LOTO, arc flash, machine guarding, confined space, [GMP / FDA / SQF / USDA as applicable]. Non-negotiable, and it starts with how you behave when you're tired and behind schedule.
**
We're direct about this because it's the heart of the job. The person we hire will be expected to:
Publish and defend a weekly scorecard — schedule compliance, PM completion, MTBF, MTTR, backlog aging, downtime by cause
Run a daily maintenance tier meeting with a clear standard for what “done” means on a work order
Hold supervisors to the same standard on off-shifts that exists on days, and make shift-to-shift handoffs actually transfer information
Have the hard conversation early, document it fairly, and coach before it becomes a performance plan
Give techs the training, parts, and time to do the job right — because accountability without capability is just blame
*If your instinct when a line goes down at 2 a.m. is to ask who before why, this isn't the right fit.

**Required
**
8+ years in industrial maintenance with 4+ years leading teams, including salaried supervisors
**Hands-on depth in liquid filling operations
** — rotary/inline fillers, cappers, conveyors, and the downstream packaging train
**Direct experience with blow molding equipment
** (extrusion and/or injection stretch blow) and the resin, mold, and tooling issues that come with it
Strong electrical troubleshooting: 480V three-phase, VFDs, motor controls, safety circuits
PLC troubleshooting — Allen-Bradley preferred; comfortable in ladder logic and able to tell a controls problem from a mechanical one
CMMS ownership, not just usage (Maximo, Fiix, eMaint, Limble, SAP PM, or similar)
Demonstrated multi-shift leadership; multi-site experience strongly preferred
Track record you can quantify — downtime reduced, changeover time cut, PM compliance moved, turnover improved
**Preferred
**
Experience in [food & beverage / personal care / household chemical / nutraceutical] filling
Reliability certification (CMRP, CRL) or Six Sigma / TPM background
Experience commissioning new lines from FAT through production release
Automation and robotics exposure — palletizing, vision systems, servo-driven equipment
Bilingual English/Spanish

Send a resume and, if you're willing, a short note on one line or machine you turned around — what shape it was in, what you changed, and what the numbers looked like six months later. That's what we'll want to talk about anyway.
