Job Description

Job Summary: The weekend Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing both mechanical and electrical systems and equipment within the plant. This dual-skilled role ensures production and facility systems operate efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime. This role requires a strong working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will be capable of identifying hazards and defects, coordinating repairs, and supporting cross-functional maintenance needs as they arise.

Shift: Friday - Sunday (5:00 am - 5:30 pm)

Job Responsibilities: 

• Perform scheduled maintenance on all plant equipment and systems; document work and materials used in the CMMS.

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on downed machines and equipment; report findings clearly.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with safety and housekeeping standards.

• Assist with the installation of new tools, machines, and equipment.

• Work collaboratively with Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety teams to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues including alarms, bearing failures, gearboxes, and pumps.

• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues including PLC faults, alarms, and control systems.

• Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding completed tasks, issues, and project updates.

• Manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently during the shift to support continuous plant operations.

Job Requirements:

• Completion of a mechanical or electrical apprenticeship or 5+ years of combined industrial experience as a mechanic/electrician 
• Technical school training with at least 18 months of on-the-job-experience

• Able to support equipment installations alongside supplier technicians

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

• Clear and effective communication skills

• Solid time management and organizational skills; able to handle multiple tasks efficiently
