1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 5:00AM - 2:00PM, Overtime as required

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician (industrial) maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and/or rebuilds all equipment in department as necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild equipment in department, as it relates to electrical, mechanical, and hydraulics. Equipment includes but is not limited to:  balers, shredders, and conveyors.
  • Ensure scheduled and preventative maintenance is performed in accordance with OSHA and manufacturers recommendations/specifications.
  • Weld and/or fabricate as needed.
  • Routinely lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain knowledge of CMMS and/or maintenance repair software.
  • Comply with all company safety regulations and policies.
  • Must be able to interact in-person with peers and the public.
  • Must be able to handle high-stress situations.
  • Must be able to accurately read and take measurements, comprehend manuals and instructions.
  • Must be able to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Must be able to respond to employee and customer complaints with respect and consideration.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent (required)
  • minimum 3-5 years in manufacturing as a maintenance technician, control programmer, or similar experience; Multi-trade experience with industrial maintenance; electrical, mechanical, and welding experience (required)
  • Journeyman status or millwright in skilled trades discipline (preferred)
  • Associate’s degree, or certification in electrical or mechanical technology (preferred)
    • Technical education or training highly desired in the following fields:
      • Industrial electrical
      • Programmable Logic Controls
      • Schematics
      • Mechanical
      • Hydraulics
      • Robotics

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Familiarity in operating the following types of tools:
      • Pneumatic
      • Welders
      • Gas cutting torch/plasma cutter
      • Cordless hand tools
      • Torque wrenches
      • Multi meter/Amp meter

  • Requires sitting, standing, and walking for the duration of the shift
  • Routinely performs repetitive movements such as bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, and pulling
  • Occasionally performs movements such as kneeling, climbing, or crouching 
  • Routinely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with group lift
  • Routinely exposed to moving and mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, and outside weather
  • Occasionally push/pull 400-2000 pounds using a pallet jack
  • Ability to use hands and fingers in repetitive movements.
  • Requires specific vision abilities including: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
