Job Overview:

Summary/Objective 
Ensure equipment is repaired and maintained in a timely manner by assisting maintenance personnel with mechanical repairs, plumbing and preventative maintenance of equipment. 

 

Essential Functions

  1. Assist maintenance personnel in the repairs of plumbing and food service equipment in the facilities.

  2. Perform monthly preventative maintenance of food service equipment.

  3. Service and maintain fleet of company vehicles.

  4. Assist in completing supply and equipment inventory, as needed.

  5. Assist in tagging new equipment and turning old equipment to appropriate base personnel.

  6. Assist with the transportation of equipment and supply items as required.

  7. Assist in the supply/uniform area as needed- to include inventory of uniforms on delivery days, issuing uniforms and other uniform related items, completing appropriate payroll deduction forms and uniform tracking forms, filling supply orders and the receipt/storage of vendor deliveries, ensuring all items are inventoried and stores according to established procedures. 

  8. Perform general custodial duties as needed. 

  9. Advise Logistics Manager of parts inventory needs.

  10. Pick up parts locally as needed.

  11. Contact Logistics Manager regarding any emergency situations.

  12. Maintains professional conduct in accordance with WSC policy. 

  13. Performs other job-related duties as required by management.

 

 

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibility.

 

Work Environment
This job operates in all environmental conditions. 

 

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull 35 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally; kneeling, standing, bending, squatting, twisting, and walking for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours per day.)

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position typically operates Monday thru Friday, 0700-1600.

 

 

Travel
Travel is generally not expected for this position.

 

Required Education and Experience

  1. Work experience in food service equipment repair and maintenance.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. On the job training.

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Must be able to repair food service equipment under the guidance of a maintenance mechanic.
  2. Must be able to provide routine maintenance on food service equipment under the guidance of a maintenance mechanic.
  3. Must be able to perform carpentry tasks, as needed.
  4. Must have knowledge of basic refrigeration and electricity concepts.
  5. Must be able to operate tools required to perform job.
  6. Must be able to drive a fork lift and a one ton truck with manual or automatic transmission.
  7. Must be able to operate power hand tools, air tools, welder, pullers, porta band saw, chop saw, threader, grinder and drill press.
  8. Must be able to work in potentially dangerous situations (Example: heights, electricity).
  9. Must be able to work in all environmental conditions and meet the physical requirements of the job, as outlined under the physical demands section of this job description.
  10. Basic computer skills required. literate in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  11. Must be able to read, understand, and follow instruction manuals for equipment for purposes of usage, training, and safety. 
  12. Knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards preferred.

 

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

  1. Ability to meet the requirements of Air Force background check. NAC/LAC

  2. Current driver license.

  3. Insurability by the company’s insurance carrier.

  4. Drug Screen

  5. Strength Test
