Maintenance Technician- Mechanical

Shift: 12-hour shift

What are we looking for?
The Maintenance Technician’s role is to provide on the production floor leadership to build Progressive Maintenance (PM) capability (breakdown elimination) and technical support (work order completion) for delivering the team’s operational targets such as safety, quality, and efficiency results. This role must proactively identify and action risks to safety, food safety, quality and production losses. Technician must participate in coaching root cause problem solving with other Make and Pack Technicians on team, effectively communicate priorities and escalate issues within their area and across shifts.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Perform mechanical and electrical preventative maintenance on various manufacturing Make and Pack equipment
- Complete work orders as assigned and proactively look at work orders to complete as time permits
- Document preventative maintenance and work orders using SAP Plant Maintenance
- Troubleshoot and repair routine mechanical (hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drive systems at the component level) and basic electrical problems on all plant equipment
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Technical Degree/Trade Certification OR 2+ years work experience related to industrial maintenance
- Possess a fundamental understanding of Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic Schematics and/or Mechanical Drawings in order to solve problems with equipment
- Willingness to develop required technical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a technical discipline, preferably in Industrial Maintenance/Technology
- Technical/ Trade Certification in: Welding, Advanced Machinist Skills, fabrication, and blueprint interpretation
- Possess an advanced understanding of AC/DC Electrical (up to 480VAC 3 Phase), Hydraulic and Pneumatic Schematics and Mechanical Drawings in order to solve problems
- Possess PLC/Instrumentation troubleshooting skills
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs.) and frequent pushing/pulling (50-200 lbs.).
- Frequent handling/gripping/bending/stooping.
- Ability to work at elevated heights off a ladder or platform, climb stairs, leaning over equipment.
- Ability to stand and / or work on feet for extended periods (minimum twelve hours in one shift).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to support production needs and to conduct multi-task work in a very fast paced work environment.
