Job Overview:

Position: Machine Repair Journeyman / Electrical Maintenance Journeyman

**Location: **Fowlerville

Off Shifts available: 2nd & 3rd shift.Overtime on weekends as needed.

Compensation, is $28-$34/hr. preference to applicants with Journeyman card, open to Journeyman level of experience.

Overview:

As a Machine Repair Journeyman or Electrical Maintenance Journeyman, your primary goal is to minimize equipment downtime and extend the life of manufacturing equipment in the Mold, Paint, and Assembly departments. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery, while also mentoring Maintenance Technicians and Helpers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Provide mechanical and electrical support for plant machinery and facilities.
  • Fabricate and repair machine tools, jigs, fixtures, and safety guards.
  • Install, test, and maintain electrical systems and wiring using hand tools and testing devices.
  • Inspect electrical systems to ensure safety and compliance with local codes.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and assist with facility repairs as needed.
  • Move, align, and install machinery as required by business needs.
  • Assist and mentor junior maintenance staff and document all activities in Maximo.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including lean workshops and safety training.
  • Follow 5S standards and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in machine repair and electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Journeyman’s card preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems, seeking applicants with injection mold and paint systems.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed and maintain a Hilo license.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Experience with computer systems (PC, Windows) and recordkeeping.
