  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures using safe, systematic troubleshooting methods, technical manuals, schematics, drawings, machine history, and appropriate test instruments.
  • Perform assigned preventive and predictive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, adjustments, component replacement, and equipment condition checks according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Respond to corrective work orders and production equipment breakdowns; restore equipment safely and efficiently while communicating equipment status, repair needs, and expected next steps.
  • Complete routine through moderately complex repairs independently. Assist the Lead with major repairs, precision work, advanced diagnostics, installations, shutdown projects, and OEM or contractor support.
  • Enter accurate labor, failure, repair, parts, and follow-up information in the CMMS. Close assigned work orders promptly and identify recurring failures or opportunities to improve PM tasks and equipment reliability.
  • Inspect repaired equipment, verify proper operation, reinstall guards and safety devices, and return equipment to service only after confirming a safe operating condition.
  • Provide task-level guidance and practical support to the maintenance apprentice when assigned. This responsibility does not include formal supervisory authority.
  • Maintain tools, test equipment, work areas, and spare parts in an orderly condition and support 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Coordinate professionally with production, quality, engineering, EHS, vendors, and outside service technicians to resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime.

  • Use multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, and other diagnostic instruments correctly and safely. Follow applicable electrical safe-work practices and escalation requirements.
  • Perform basic PLC input and output diagnostics when qualified; PLC troubleshooting experience is preferred but is not required.

Mechanical Hydraulic and Pneumatic Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair pumps, cylinders, valves, manifolds, seals, hoses, fittings, accumulators, regulators, actuators, and related hydraulic and pneumatic components.
  • Maintain and repair bearings, gearboxes, couplings, shafts, belts, chains, sprockets, mechanical drives, lubrication systems, guards, and machine assemblies.
  • Perform alignment, adjustment, disassembly, replacement, reassembly, and functional testing using appropriate hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, lifting devices, and safe rigging practices.
  • Basic welding and fabrication capability for equipment repairs or modifications is preferred but is not required.

CNC Equipment Support

  • Independently troubleshoot machine alarms, switches and sensors, coolant and lubrication systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumps, chillers, and associated electrical or control problems.
  • Support safe recovery, verification, and return to service after maintenance. Escalate advanced CNC control, servo, spindle, programming, parameter, and OEM-specific issues to the Level III Lead, management, or qualified outside service.

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow Weldmac safety rules, EHS procedures, lockout tagout requirements, electrical safety practices, PPE requirements, machine-guarding standards, and safe lifting and rigging procedures.
