Maintenance II
3rd Shift
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the Company’s business goals and objectives.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production times.
- Able to perform complex maintenance repairs.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them utilizing all available reference materials.
- Assist machine vendors with installing and setting up new machines when machines are delivered.
- Provide training and work direction to Maintenance I staff. Assign tasks and oversee completion of work.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:
- Possess the mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs, and maintenance.
- Ability to determine the cause of operating errors and deciding what to do about them.
- Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
- Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and work well with peers, supervisors, and management staff; as well as, outside vendors.
- Ability to provide guidance and direction to subordinates.
- Ability to comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to management staff.
- Ability to wear proper PPE.
- Ability to distinguish between colors.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Four plus years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience; and HVAC.
- A degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is a plus or equivalent work experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position has moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily production/technical nature.
- The following physical/environmental demands could occur up to and exceed two-thirds of the time:
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers.
- The following physical/environmental demands occur from one-third up to two-thirds of the time:
- Ability stand and/or sit for an eight hour shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive work for 8 hours per day and potentially on weekends.
- Ability to judge depth and distance.
- Ability to read fine print and distinguish color.
- Ability to reach/handle items and work with their fingers.
- Ability to wear proper PPE.
- This position has the following work environment conditions:
- Works near or with moving mechanical parts up to two-thirds of the working time.
- Has moderate to loud noise conditions.
- May lift up to ten (10) pounds over two-thirds of the time.
May lift up twenty-five pounds from one-third to two-thirds of the time.
