Job Overview:

The Maintenance Technician II is a mid-level technician responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining automated systems, conveyors, and facility equipment. This role serves as a primary responder to equipment issues and supports preventive maintenance and reliability initiatives. Success requires reliability, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical equipment (up to 480V)
  • Maintain motors, VFDs, sensors, gearboxes, bearings, and pneumatic systems
  • Troubleshot automation systems (conveyors, sortation, ASRS, packaging equipment)
  • Resolve jams, sensor faults, and minor electrical or pneumatic failures
  • Perform preventive maintenance and system calibrations
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics; perform basic PLC/HMI diagnostics
  • Document work orders and maintenance activities in CMMS
  • Identify equipment issues and support continuous improvement and RCA efforts
  • Collaborate with team members, vendors, and support staff; assist junior technicians

Required Skills

  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting

  • Pneumatics and conveyor systems knowledge

  • Basic PLC and controls understanding

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)

  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience

  • Experience with automation, conveyors, electrical, and mechanical systems

  • Ability to read schematics and perform basic PLC troubleshooting

  • Familiarity with CMMS systems

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk throughout a shift

  • Climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods

  • Reach, pull, push, and lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights up to 50 pounds

  • Operate warehouse equipment safely as required for the position (i.e. pallet jack, box cutter, carts) which requires coordinated movements
