Description
This position supports Click Bond’s Operations and is key to troubleshooting, servicing and maintaining facilities, equipment and grounds, while supporting minimal downtime and effective use of assets. This requires that you help identify and apply continuous improvement ideas, and that you fully apply your core competency, knowledge and abilities. As a team member, your work helps us succeed with the operations goal to provide perfect parts on time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: While reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, and supporting the team, you can expect to work individually or in a group, performing your duties in a minimum of one core competency from the following list. You also provide a supporting role in other core competencies, where needed and where training is provided. All duties are performed with knowledge and application of safety standards, such as, but not limited to proper personal protective equipment (PPE), lifting techniques, forklift and rigging operations, fall protection, lock out/tag out, arc flash and confined space permits. Core competencies are:
- Maintenance (Preventive, Janitorial, Construction, Woodwork and General Repairs)
- Mechanic—Industrial (Hydraulics & Pneumatics, Power Drives, PLC Controllers, Automation & Robotics, Motors & Controls, AC 120-480V, 1 & 3 Phase Power Supplies)
- Mechanic—Automotive (Combustion & Electric Motors, Powertrain, 6 to 24V Circuits and Power Systems)
- Electrician (Industrial, Commercial or Residential with High & Low Voltage Distribution, Motors & Controls, AC 120-480V, 1 & 3 Phase Power Supplies)
- Electronics Technician (CNC, PLC, Circuit Boards, Electrical Distribution Systems, Motors & Controls, All AC & DC Power Supplies)
- Plumbing (Water, Sewer, Irrigation, Gas, Air Supply, Liquid Transfer)
- Machinist (Manual and CNC powered Mills, Lathes, Grinders)
- Fabrication (Break, Shear, Cutting Torch, Welding; including Soldering, Mig, Tig, Arc and Gas)
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
- Able to perform one or more, core competencies with a high level of success.
- Must have written and verbal command of the English language, relative to the work responsibilities.
- Able to write work progress updates, written procedures, work instructions, and maintain records and logs.
- Able to use a keyboard and computer to perform research and interface with software such as Maintenance Connection, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Explorer.
- Able to perform basic math, including but not limited to addition, subtraction, division, fractions and metric conversions. Application of geometry and algebra is a plus.
- Must be able to perform duties from written and verbal instruction, sketches, blueprints, schematics, diagrams, visual aids, and memory recall.
- Able to perform duties for up to 4 hours, without interruption.
- Able to evaluate, estimate time requirements, and complete your assignments on-time.
- Can correctly select, use and maintain hand and power tools, test equipment such as; multi-meter, and other tools typically required for the Essential Duties noted above.
- Has knowledge and applies skills for general safety, such as, spill response, hazardous material handling/labeling (HMIS), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and 6S.
- Can perform Job Safety Assessment (JSA).
- Has a working knowledge of Quality and Environmental Management System (QEMS).
- Has the appropriate skills in operating software (Maintenance Connection) to obtain and update work assignments
- Able to research, communicate with vendors, recommend and fill out purchase requests for suggested replacement parts and supplies.
- Able to support team members by working with and assisting members of the team.
- Able to comply with OSHA, environmental, industry and company policies.
- When directed, able to adjust your normal work schedule to accommodate special projects, minimize production downtime, and reduce workload.
- Has a working knowledge of OSHA regulations, National Electric Codes, National Fire Codes, and International Building Codes.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- Completion of 2-year vocational school, Apprenticeship, or Journeyman is preferred.
- 2-years of experience in maintenance positions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination and reach with arms to grasp with hands.
- Able to handle small parts, less than a ¼” in size.
- Able to frequently lift or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move more with assistance.
- Able to stand, sit, crawl, kneel, twist, bend, lie prone and climb, for an 8-hour shift.
- Able to regularly walk up to 300 yards without rest.
- Able to work at heights above 20 feet while using ladders, power lifts and forklift baskets.
- Adequate close, peripheral, depth perception and color vision.
- Hearing ability to diagnose and repair equipment.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE):
- Appropriate and relevant to assigned duties, all PPE use is mandatory and applies to all industry and company policies. Mandatory safety glasses, gloves, respirator, and arc/flash gear are some examples.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Common industrial chemical and fume exposure will occur. PPE will be worn where required.
- Hot & cold work conditions exist, and adequate PPE is required.
- Assignments to perform work outdoors and indoors can be expected.
- Exposure to typical weather conditions, affecting personal discomfort, allergies, etc.
- Exposure to electrical current and potential shock, natural and compressed gases, moving parts and equipment are routinely encountered.
- Noise levels can exceed 85 db. When applicable, ear protection must be worn.
