Description
SUMMARY:
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, routine maintenance and repair to pneumatic, electro-mechanical, hydraulic and CNC machines.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support the SPG safety program.
- Actively promote and drive a culture of safety.
- Perform and document routine preventative maintenance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs and documents routine preventative maintenance on all machines per schedule.
- Replenishes liquids as needed to maintain prescribed operating levels.
- Checks and repairs broken lines and hoses and valves as needed. Determines and reports location of leak to supervisor for repair scheduling.
- Cleans the screws and barrels on the presses and checks them for wear.
- Reports out-of-tolerance conditions to supervisor for repair or replacement.
- Trouble-shoots machine problems and reports findings to supervisor.
- Repairs machines following supervisors’ guidelines.
- Replaces viewing windows in presses as needed.
- Repairs or overhauls portable equipment or components removed from machine.
- Wires molds prior to installation into a press.
- Assign daily work to subordinates.
- Process Maintenance reports.
- Maintain and order proper level of maintenance supplies.
- Train employees on new procedures.
- Assist manager with reviews as needed as well as disciplinary action.
- Handle personnel issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Hydraulic and electrical knowledge is required for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
