JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

Opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join Adient's automotive metal seat frame welding plant in Battle Creek, MI. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, planned and emergency maintenance in a production environment. The shift hours for this third shift role are: 9:45pm-6:15am.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for fixing equipment as needed, changeovers, PMs and troubleshooting of equipment.
Must be able to troubleshoot conditions in a production setting.
Ability and willingness to diagnose and repair the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical aspects of a wide variety of machines.
Working knowledge of PLC's
Perform quality checks.
Complete all required and applicable training required by Adient and its customers.

Education / Experience / Skills

High School Education or Equivalent (GED)
Journeyman Card from the Department of Labor preferred.

Qualifications

Journeyman Card from the Department of Labor preferred. Degree or certification from a college or university is required if you do not possess a Journeyman’s card.
Previous experience working as a Millwright, Electrician or Machine repair in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Experience working in an automotive sheet metal stamping facility.
Experience with large transfer and progressive dies a plus
Able to lift 40 lbs. frequently depending upon rework.
Standing 8 or more hours, walking to assist in seat build, rework, etc.
Ability to solve problems and work with support personnel.
