GENERAL FUNCTION
Diagnose electrical and control malfunctions and difficulties and make repairs or adjustments as needed. Perform testing, installation, replacement or modification of components.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
§ Install and maintain electrical system of the plant to provide power for machines, equipment, lighting, facilities and other electrical apparatus and gear
§ Comply with all codes, regulations and safety specifications
§ Maintain controls, values, and calibrations to make sure everything is functioning properly
§ Diagnose, isolate and correct electrical troubles involving repair and replacement of controls, motors, switches, PLC, servo drives, variable frequency drives, distributed control systems, instrumentations, re-routing of circuits and distribution center to balance load on AC and DC power systems
§ Make emergency repairs when necessary to off-set excessive down time and production delays
§ Lay out installation for engineering specifications and drawings for major projects
§ Use instructions or manuals on installations, systems layout, and changeovers to complete project work
§ Design and carry out projects to improve safety, quality, production and ergonomics
§ Assign duties, instruct, and guide the work of electricians and contractors assigned to the projects
§ Other maintenance duties as assigned and required
§ Observe all safety precautions especially lock, tag and try
§ Ability to work under pressure
§ Responsible for observing all plant standard operating procedures and safety policies
§ Responsible for teamwork communication with production operators and supervisors
§ Must wear appropriate PPE at all times
§ Understand plant environmental and safety policies
§ Participate in training programs to enhance environmental and safety performance
§ Perform assigned tasks as specified in the environmental procedures and work instructions
§ Understand the significant environmental impacts of my job activities and the consequences of departing from specified work instructions
§ Must have initiative and exhibit good judgment
§ Must perform with safe work practices at all times
Mental and physical requirements (must be able to perform the following without limitation):
§ Physical dexterity: lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, etc.
§ Ability to climb on ladders to heights of over 10’
§ Standing
§ Sitting
§ Reading for information
§ Equipment troubleshooting
