Maintenance Technician - 3rd shift

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Maintenance Technician installs, repairs, and maintains equipment in the facility. This role works in cooperation with all departments in order to provide excellent customer service and meet customer needs. This position requires regular and recurrent attendance – minimum of 40 hours per week.

 

JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct assigned preventative maintenance at regular intervals and fulfill recordkeeping. 
  • Maintain plant property and grounds conditions, including storm damage, trash removal, and snow removal.
  • Make pick-ups and deliveries for maintenance team using company vehicles.
  • Perform minor electrical and other utilities installations.
  • Perform facility maintenance as needed.
  • Remove, replace, and/or repair building and equipment and their working components. 
  • Support the operation of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, heating systems, ventilation systems and cooling systems.
  • Support the plant with all sanitation needs.
  • Follow standard operating procedures to ensure proper quality of work and efficiency.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

  • Six months or more of related work experience required. (Additional education may be substituted for experience.) Must be able to read blueprints and possess prior experience working with pneumatics, hydraulics, HVAC and general maintenance

  • Able to do basic mathematics

  • Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos

  • Able to understand and carry out verbal instructions

  • Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally, up to 50 or more pounds.

  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is periodically exposed to vibration.

  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and moderate heat and cold.

  • Works where the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
